Burlington Rotary President Bob Hogan (r) presents a check for $2000.00 to Burlington Fire Department's Mark Saia and Chief Lee Callahan to be used for purchasing defibrillators to be placed in the town's public buildings. The Burlington Rotary Club's annual Senior Citizens dinner dance was a great success once again. Over 200 Burlington seniors showed up to be enjoy a turkey dinner and music by a popular DJ. As usual, club members staffed the kitchen and served the meal.

Members of our Rotary Club and student members of The Interact Club served as models at our first annual fashion show. Drinks and baked goods made by club members and spouses were served to the crowd at this successful fund raiser. Our club held a Kid's Pan Mass Challenge bike ride to Benefit the Dana Farber Center's Jimmy Fund. Over $2,000 was raised in just a few hours on a Saturday morning by this event which was initiated and organized by PDG Dave Fionda and his daughter Luciana.

Burlington Rotarians stepped up in the early morning hours to help with a donation of 782 books to the FOX25 Morning News Children’s Book Drive. Burlington Rotary Club and The Rotary Interact Club plus many others dropped off bagfuls of BRAND NEW BOOKS! Seen at the dinner meeting where the 2007-8 Club officers were installed are L-R, 2006-7 DG Donna Wayland, incoming Club President John Tuccinardi, and 2006-7 Club President Bob Hogan.

The Special Olympic Team sponsored by the Burlington Rotary Club were the gold medal winners in 2007. Every Kindergarten teacher in Burlington receives a check to help purchase those extras that the teachers pay for out of their own pockets. President John Tuccinardi, helps Memorial School third graders look up words in their new dictionaries. The Burlington Rotary Club gives every third grader their own Webster's Student Dictionary as part of an annual Club annual Project begun in 2004. A joint meeting with the Lexington Rotary Club was held before the annual Thanksgiving Day football game between the Burlington and Lexington High Schools. As one of its annual service projects, Burlington Rotary arranged for a generous donation of 110 turkeys by Shaw's Supermarkets. The turkeys were added to our town's People Helping People's Thanksgiving Dinner food program for needy families.
