2nd Annual Fashion Show April 26, 2008
This event was a resounding success, attracting over 250 attendees who enjoyed an evening eating delicious
snacks and deserts, while watching Rotarians and their family members,
Interact Club members, and our Club's Burlington Pride Special Olympics
Team players strut their stuff up the runway and onto the stage wearing
outfits from Ann Taylor, Men's Warehouse and The GAP.

A spectacularly successful event, this year's "Friday Night at the Fights" amateur boxing event combined with dinner and raffles raised a significant amount of money the club will put to good use helping people this year. Passion Plunge

Burlington Rotarian David May (R-back row) joined with his friends Rick Murray and Fred Lonergan and over 300 other hardy souls who took a dip in the 38 degee water at Revere Beach to raise money for Special Olympics of Massachusetts (SOMA). Burlington Rotary sponsers and coach local Special Olympics Softball and Basketball players. David's supporters and the Burlington Rotary raised over $1000 in contributions to SOMA for his plunge. The installation ceremony, the culmination of a project three years in the making, took place on January 11, 2008 at the Burlington High School Library. Our club donated this beautiful bookcase and the books in it to help BHS students learn more about one of Rotary's major goals, the furtherence of world peace and understanding between people of varied nationalities and ethnicities. Checks for Burlington Teachers October 2, 2007
Burlington Rotary Club President John Tuccinardi presents checks for $35.00 each to Pine Glen School's Kindergarten teachers, Melissa Parnell, Karen Potts, Elaine Babajtis and Erin Goanci. The Rotary is continuing it's program of giving every Kindergarten teacher in Burlington a check to help purchase those extras that the teachers pay for out of their own pockets. Gold Medal Winners August 11-12, 2007
Burlington "Rotary Pride", the Special Olympic softball team, sponsored by the Burlington Rotary Club and the Burlington Recreation Department, participated in the Special Olympics Softball tournament at U-Mass Amherst on Saturday and Sunday, August 11th and 12th. The team took home the Gold Medal!
The action began on Friday with the arrival of the athletes, including Robert Gay, Jason Thompson, Donovan Robinson, Mohamed Taha, Larry Dornhoffer, Ray Tarquinio, Tony McDonald, Patti McDonald, Billy Rich, David Franceschi, Kevin Larson, Jenny Landers, Jill Brown, Stephanie Klien, Jonathan Kushmerek, Kevin O'Neil, Michael Moynihan, and Ben Berg. They were supported by the coaching staff of Mark Landers, John Tuccinardi, Lloyd Rosenberg, Barry Berg, Jim Comey, Jan Comey, Joe Franceschi, Linda Whitaker, Ricky Brown, and Lydia Brown.
Tourney playoff games took place on Saturday and Sunday with four games scheduled. Many months of diligent practice and hard work paid off for the "Pride" when they stood on the medal platform after capturing the gold. Great pride was truly in evidence on the faces of the athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters who traveled with the team. This was the first Gold Medal for the group after several years of competition. They demonstrated high-level skills, performed excellently and exhibited great teamwork. They are truly the "Pride of Burlington".
Burlington Pride Day August 4, 2007
At this year's Pride Day festivities on the Burlington Common, Once again, the Burlington Rotary Club sponsored and staffed a "money blowing" booth. This "ride" is always a big hit with toddlers through middle school students. Every child tried to grab as much of the "money" flying around inside as possible. And, each received a prize for their efforts, there were no losers. Playing "doorman" in this photo is John Tuccinardi, this year's Club President. Burlington Rotarians stepped up in the early morning hours to help with a donation of 782 books to the FOX25 Morning News Children’s Book Drive. The drive elicited great participation from everyone including Burlington residents, area businesses and municipalities, Burlington firefighters, Long’s Jewelers, Town Hall employees, our Burlington Rotary Club and The Rotary Interact Club. All of these groups dropped off bagfuls of BRAND NEW BOOKS! Thank you to everyone who stopped by! Fox 25 is on its way to beating last year’s collection total – more than 5,000 books.

Our club held it's first annual Kid's Pan Mass Challenge bike ride to Benefit the Dana Farber Center's Jimmy Fund. Over $2,000 was raised in just a few hours of a beautifu Saturday morning by this event which was initiated and organized by Past District Governor Dave Fionda and his daughter Luciana. Fashion Show April 28, 2007
Members of our Rotary Club and student members of The Interact Club served as models at our first annual fashion show. They took their turns modeling men's clothing from The Men's Warehouse and ladies garb from Coldwater Creek. Senior Citizen Dinner Dance February 11, 2007
The Burlington Rotary Club's annual dinner dance was a success once again. Over 200 Burlington seniors showed up to be enjoy a turkey dinner and music by a popular DJ. As usual, club members staffed the kitchen and served the meal.
